At the top of the appliance market, everything is good. The question is what, for your household, is worth its place.
Spend deeply where engineering compounds daily: refrigeration (it runs every hour you own it), the primary oven (buy the one whose results you can taste), and motion hardware (touched constantly, replaced rarely). These reward the investment every single day.
Spend thoughtfully on theatre: range cookers, wine walls, outdoor kitchens. Magnificent when they match your life; expensive sculpture when they do not.
And spend on specification itself. The costliest mistakes we repair are not bad appliances but good appliances badly chosen — the 90-centimetre oven in the two-person flat, the wine cellar in the teetotal house. A considered hour with a specifier costs nothing and saves fortunes.
